Telemedicine Informed Consent

This consent applies to patients in Colombia, where OdontoCheck provides a formal dental second-opinion teleconsultation in accordance with Resolution 2654 of 2019 of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

What it involves: a live video consultation with a registered dentist, followed by a report with the assessment of your case. The dentist reviews the information and images you provide and issues a professional second opinion remotely.

Scope and limitations: telemedicine does not allow an in-person physical examination or clinical procedures. The quality of the assessment depends on the information and images you supply. In some cases the dentist may recommend an in-person visit to confirm findings or complete the evaluation.

Risks and benefits: benefits include timely access to a specialist opinion without travel. Limitations and risks include the impossibility of a physical examination and the potential need for additional studies. Telemedicine does not handle emergencies: in an emergency, go to an emergency service.

Confidentiality: your data and clinical information are treated confidentially, stored encrypted, and accessed only by the professionals assigned to your case; every access is recorded in an audit log.

Voluntariness: your participation is voluntary and you may withdraw this consent at any time, without affecting your right to receive care by other means.
