Frequently asked questions
Does OdontoCheck replace my dentist?
No. We are a second opinion that complements your treating dentist. In Colombia the service is a formal dental teleconsultation; for patients in the United States and Europe it is an educational, informational opinion — no diagnosis or prescriptions.
What do I need to upload?
Photos of your mouth, X-rays if you have them, and the treatment plan or quote you were given. Our assistant guides you step by step.
Which languages do you support?
Spanish and English. You pick the language when booking and we assign a dentist who speaks it.
How do I pay from the US or Europe?
With international credit or debit cards through PayU. In Colombia we also accept PSE.
How long does the report take?
Under 48 hours after your video consultation. You download it securely from your dashboard; we never send it by email.
Can I use the report with my insurance?
The report is a signed, digitally verifiable professional document. Whether your insurer accepts it depends on their policies; for US and EU patients it constitutes an informational opinion.
What if my connection drops during the appointment?
We try to reconnect and, if that is not possible, we reschedule your video consultation at no extra cost.
How do you protect my data?
Encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, an audit log of every access, and compliance with Habeas Data, GDPR and HIPAA practices. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
Can I reschedule my appointment?
Yes. From your dashboard you can reschedule before the appointment time, subject to the specialist's availability.
Do you issue prescriptions?
Only for patients in Colombia, and only when the dentist considers it clinically appropriate. For patients in the US and Europe we do not issue prescriptions.
